The neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), located
within the new women and children's center at Inova Fairfax Hospital, is a 60-bed,
highly specialized unit with state-of-the-art facilities. The neonatal mortality
rate for infants born at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children is one of the
lowest in the nation.
Staff/Transport
Fairfax Neonatal Associates, P.C., is a group of 18
board-certified neonatologists. Neonatologists are in
the nursery 24 hours a day and are available for both in-house and telephone
consultations as well as transports. In addition, a highly trained team
can transport, by air or ground, any infant born within a 200-mile radius
who requires the services provided at Fairfax Hospital for Children. With
more than 9,000 deliveries each year, our staff is skilled in the care of
a variety of neonatal problems.
